Description
In Burgenland, the pilot project "Assisted Living Plus for Seniors" promotes local care for seniors with a need for care up to care allowance level 3 (in individual cases, higher levels as well). Providers from the business sector, non-profit organizations, or public institutions can apply for a flat-rate subsidy of up to €145 per person per month. The funding is granted indefinitely and is settled quarterly. It covers both rent and operating costs as well as a comprehensive basic service package, which includes a caregiver, a 24-hour staffed emergency call system, a common room, and activating activities.
The aim of the measure is to enable seniors with care needs to remain in assisted living arrangements before a residential care facility becomes necessary. The funding rate is 100%. Prerequisites for the grant are a medically or nursing-determined care need up to level 3, no acute necessity for residential care, and a professional assessment by qualified personnel. Quarterly submission of bank statements, care allowance notices, and a list of funded persons ensures proper accounting. Through this financial commitment, the state of Burgenland strengthens the autonomy and quality of life of older people in assisted living communities.
