Description

The funding program of the Free State of Saxony has for years specifically supported measures to promote gender equality and to combat gender-based and domestic violence. It funds, among other things, projects of municipal gender equality officers, the operation and equipment of protection facilities, counseling, intervention and coordination centers, as well as exemplary initiatives with supraregional and innovative orientation. The goal is to strengthen the acceptance of sexual and gender diversity, to anchor gender equality-relevant content in politics and society, and to sustainably network all actors in Saxony. Financing is provided as a grant, with micro-projects without personnel costs able to be applied for starting at €1,000, and large-scale projects receiving funding up to €200,000.

Eligible to apply are start-ups (women in rural areas up to an investment volume of €20,000), public institutions, non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and educational institutions. The prerequisite is that the focus of the project lies within the Free State of Saxony and that at least one specialist with a university of applied sciences degree or comparable qualification is employed for gender equality projects. For municipal gender equality officers, equivalent funds must be allocated in the budget plan. Applications must be submitted by August 31 for the following year; micro-projects can also be registered continuously. Required documents include the application for funding, the guideline for promoting equal opportunities, and the application manual. Evaluation criteria include, among others, supraregional impact, innovative character, cross-border networking, and public relations.
