Corona and the Arts – Seelze Community Foundation

The Bürgerstiftung Seelze has launched a short-term emergency aid program called "Corona and the Arts," which specifically supports artists in Lower Saxony whose income has completely ceased due to the cancellation of all events during the Corona pandemic. Private individuals from the fields of culture, music, and media can apply for a one-time grant of up to €500. A prerequisite is proof of lost earnings from canceled performances as well as participation in a subsequent benefit concert. The decision on funding is made solely by the foundation’s board; the funding application can be requested at any time via email as long as funds are available.

The aim of this grant is to secure the livelihood of artists and stabilize their existence during the difficult Corona period. The one-time payment is made within a few days after the application is approved and provides immediate financial support to cover ongoing costs such as rent or living expenses. With a total allocation of €5,000, the foundation seeks to provide as many affected individuals in the region as possible with a small financial cushion quickly and without bureaucracy. Interested cultural workers simply complete the official funding application and submit it along with the required documentation by email – a straightforward support measure that offers tangible assistance to artists during this challenging time.
