Dementia and Participation (DEMTeil)

The funding program "Dementia and Participation (DEMTeil)" of the Bavarian State Government supports non-profit organizations and public institutions in Bavaria in implementing innovative measures for people with dementia and their relatives. As an ongoing grant opportunity, it aims to promote projects that sustainably strengthen social integration, healthcare, and everyday participation. Through targeted financial assistance, activities are funded that open new paths in daily life design – from low-threshold meeting places to digital care services, as well as cultural and sporting initiatives for those affected and their close contacts. The program not only provides financial resources but also acknowledges the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between nursing professionals, social educators, psychologists, and volunteers.

The focus is on improving the quality of life and self-determination of people with dementia as well as relieving their relatives. Project sponsors benefit from a transparent application process via the Bavarian State Office for Care, which serves as a central contact point offering expert advice on nursing-related issues. The initiative creates a binding framework that advances the development of sustainable, common good-oriented services in the Free State while simultaneously strengthening regional networking among civil society and professional actors. In doing so, the program makes an important contribution to strengthening an inclusive and caring community.
