Description
EAG Investment Grants for Photovoltaic Systems and Electricity Storage in Vienna support the installation or expansion of photovoltaic systems up to 1000 kWp as well as the associated electricity storage. Eligible applicants include private individuals, companies, founders, non-profit organizations, cooperatives, public institutions, interest groups, and foundations. The goal is to increase the share of renewable energies, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve energy efficiency. Applications can be submitted at least twice a year from April 21, 2022, until January 1, 2030. After ticket drawing, ranking in categories A/B (up to 20 kWp) is done on a first-come, first-served basis; in categories C/D (over 20 kWp), ranking is based on funding need in EUR/kWp and submission date. Support amounts to up to 30% of eligible investment costs, taking into account state aid maximum intensities. The project duration is limited to 12 months, and final accounting must be completed within six or twelve months after contract conclusion.
Funded are investment costs for photovoltaic modules, electricity storage, installation, planning, expert reports, as well as approval and notification fees. Non-eligible costs include land costs, services rendered before application submission, taxes, grid expansion over 1000 m, own contributions, and cash payments. Applicants must submit a project description, grid connection proof, permits, financing plan, and offer comparisons; for agri-photovoltaic systems, an agricultural use concept with minimum requirements for mounting, a maximum 7% land loss, and biodiversity measures is required. Innovative and agri-PV systems receive bonuses; technical and ecological requirements must be strictly observed. Proper and standard-compliant execution by authorized contractors is a prerequisite. The program makes an important contribution to a sustainable energy system and supply security in Vienna.
