Description
The program “Individual International Projects” of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) offers researchers from all disciplines of basic research an open thematic funding opportunity. It enables the implementation of time-limited projects in close collaboration with renowned partners in selected countries. With a funding rate of up to €450,000, both personnel expenses and material costs can be covered. The duration extends up to a maximum of 48 months, with evaluation conducted by international reviewers. The program combines a high degree of flexibility with strict scientific quality criteria and supports pioneering approaches as well as established research questions.
Eligible for funding are both Austrian educational and public institutions that provide suitable infrastructure. Applicants must possess the appropriate scientific qualifications and submit an integrated concept with international project partners. Five submission deadlines are available per year, depending on the respective cooperation countries either continuously or fixed. Electronic applications are submitted via the FWF portal elane. Accompanying documents for application and accounting are clearly defined to ensure a smooth project process.
