Description

The BerndtSteinKinder Foundation supports young parents in challenging life situations in Hamburg with the free parent course “SAFE HAVEN.” As a long-term program spanning 20 months, the course accompanies pregnant women from the seventh month of pregnancy and families during the first 18 months of their children’s lives. The goal is to strengthen parental sensitivity, reduce stress, and sustainably reinforce the trust relationship between parents and children. Through a combination of four group meetings at Hamburg parent schools, KiFaZen, and daycare centers, as well as eleven individualized home visits with developmental psychological video counseling, a safe environment is created in which families in stressful situations can gain new perspectives.

The target groups are particularly single parents, underage and psychologically burdened parents, as well as families affected by poverty, partnership conflicts, or addiction. The course is professionally supported by highly qualified family midwives, pediatric nurses specializing in family care, and experts in developmental psychological counseling. Ongoing registration allows for flexible start dates throughout the year. Thanks to funding and donations, the foundation covers all costs – however, voluntary contributions of €25 per month are possible upon request. Further information and the registration form can be found directly at www.sichererhafen.hamburg/anmeldung.
