Description
The federal funding for energy consulting in non-residential buildings, systems, and installations supports public institutions and companies in increasing their energy efficiency and using renewable energies more effectively. The program subsidizes fees for qualified energy consulting services, provided that the application is submitted before the consulting work begins and a legally binding contract with a certified expert is concluded. Eligible costs include assessments of existing and new buildings as well as system and installation evaluations according to DIN EN 16247 or DIN V 18599. Investments in structural measures are excluded. The goal is to identify energy-saving potentials, develop concepts for heat and electricity optimization, and establish long-term climate protection strategies. The funding can be accessed nationwide by municipalities, associations, clubs, public bodies, as well as commercial enterprises and industrial companies.
Applications are submitted continuously to the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) and require an offer from the energy consultant, detailed building data or load profiles, and proof of legal entitlement. The approved grants cover the majority of consulting costs, thereby providing a financial incentive to plan and implement efficiency-enhancing measures at an early stage. Upon positive approval, operators of non-residential buildings, technical installations, and systems can benefit from a comprehensive consulting process that forms the basis for economical, resource-conserving modernizations and makes an important contribution to climate protection.
