Description

The Eppstein Fund for the Support of Needy Children and Adolescents enables targeted assistance for young people residing in Eppstein through grants for educational and social measures. Income from the fund is used, for example, to cover contributions for class trips, holiday camps, tutoring, music school lessons, lunch, and childcare costs. Work materials as well as participation in school extracurricular activities can also be supported. The foundation's assets, originally established in 2010 as a trust fund of the Eppstein Citizens' Foundation, are continuously supplemented and ensure long-term participation of children and adolescents in social life and educational opportunities in the region.

Eligible to apply are educational institutions, public agencies, and private individuals; applications are submitted by schools, childcare facilities, the social welfare office, or directly by legal guardians. Proof of residence in Eppstein as well as proof of need are required. The funds are not paid to the applicants but directly to the respective cost bearers. An application form, a project description, a financing and cost plan, proof of available own funds, and references must be submitted. Funding is awarded on an ongoing basis, so applications can be submitted at any time. The Eppstein Citizens' Foundation, as the funding body, manages the fund and decides on approvals based on the submitted documents.
