Description
The ERA Fellowships offer outstanding postdoctoral researchers of all nationalities the opportunity to promote mobility and career development in Widening Countries. Funding is provided to educational institutions, companies, non-profit as well as public organizations in the EU, which, together with an academic or non-academic host organization in a Widening Country, host excellent researchers. With a funding amount ranging from €100,000 to €500,000 per fellowship and a funding rate of 100%, personnel costs, material costs, and travel expenses are covered. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie ERA Fellowships strengthen the research capacities of partner organizations, provide interdisciplinary experiences, and increase visibility within the scientific community. The submission deadline is September 8, 2027, 17:00 Brussels time, via a single-stage procedure in the EU Funding & Tenders Portal.
The selection is made by a single-stage evaluation panel based on the criteria innovation content and excellence, expected impact on career and ERA, as well as quality and efficiency of project implementation, with each criterion requiring a minimum score of 3 out of 5 points and an overall score of at least 10. Applicant teams must consist of at least three independent institutions, including one organization from an EU Member State and two others from Member or associated countries. Required documents include, among others, the standard application form HE MSCA PF, a detailed curriculum vitae, a comprehensive project description, an ethics self-assessment, and a financial plan. The fellowships are ready to start from April 7, 2027, and aim to strengthen fellows’ career paths through transnational research and to establish cross-border networks.
