Description

Within the framework of nationwide available skilled worker/apprenticeship training programs (FLA), the Social and Further Education Fund (SWF) supports part-time courses aimed at targeted preparation for the extraordinary final apprenticeship examination. Temporary agency workers with discontinued apprenticeships or semi-skilled employment receive 100% coverage of course and examination fees, material and administrative costs, as well as wage costs during the training – up to a maximum limit of €16,000 per year of employment. The focus is on metal and electrical engineering, operational logistics, and office professions. A total of 200 places are available annually, and applications can be submitted until 31 December 2025. The goal is the sustainable qualification of skilled workers and the enhancement of their long-term employability.

Prerequisites for funding include an uninterrupted employment relationship from 1 January 2023 with a commercial temporary employment agency, timely payment of social and further education contributions, and training with an SWF framework agreement partner. The project duration is limited to 12 months, with all documents (e.g., employment contract, assignment notification, funding application, survey forms, invoice copies, and participation certificates) required to be submitted within six months after completion of the training. Interested parties in electrical, metal, and logistics fields thus have the opportunity to make up for missing apprenticeship qualifications and sustainably improve their career prospects in the labor market.
