Fair Understanding

The funding program Fairständnis supports individual projects that actively engage against right-wing extremism in Rhineland-Palatinate. With a grant as the type of funding, this initiative is aimed at non-profit organizations, interest groups, and other associations. The program promotes social cohesion and the strengthening of democratic values by supporting projects dedicated to the prevention of right-wing extremist tendencies. The funding is specifically targeted at voluntary actors in associations, projects, initiatives, as well as municipalities that are actively involved in implementing measures to support an open-minded, tolerant society. The implementation of the projects must take place in Rhineland-Palatinate, emphasizing the regional focus of this call for proposals.

The objective of this measure is to combat right-wing extremism through a one-time grant funding that enables the realization of innovative approaches and sustainable measures. In addition to financial support, projects that contribute to strengthening social norms and values are promoted. The ongoing funding opportunity also allows for the consideration of projects with longer-term engagement. Interested organizations as well as voluntary initiators can contact the responsible office of the Ministry of the Interior and for Sport of Rhineland-Palatinate when submitting an application, with further information available from the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. This funding program thus provides an important point of contact to counter societal extremisms and to promote democratic discourse.
