Description
The Saxon Family Foundation "Help for Families, Mothers and Children" grants earmarked subsidies to families and single parents residing in the Free State of Saxony with at least one child who have fallen into acute financial distress through no fault of their own. The aim is targeted livelihood security, for example through the preservation of housing, the financing of urgently needed purchases, or limited debt repayment. Special assistance in cases of multiple births is also part of the range of services. Support is provided individually and is based on the severity and urgency of the emergency as well as on already exhausted statutory and private aid options. A prerequisite is that income limits are not exceeded and that applicants actively participate in finding a solution.
Applications can be submitted at any time through one of the regional counseling centers, which also assist in compiling the required documents—application form, proof of income and assets, as well as the child's birth certificate. Allocation is based on clear evaluation criteria, including urgency, severity of distress, and utilization of other assistance. There is no fixed deadline, allowing families to receive prompt relief in times of crisis. The decision on funding is made by the foundation’s office after reviewing all submitted documentation. Thus, the program provides an unbureaucratic contribution to stabilizing life situations and enables short-term financial support to bridge burdensome bottlenecks and sustainably secure the basis of living.
