Description
The Felix Burda Award 2026 honors individuals and organizations across Germany who demonstrate exemplary commitment to the prevention of colorectal cancer. The award recognizes innovative and sustainable initiatives in the two categories Medicine and Science and Engagement of the Year. The Felix Burda Foundation organizes this prize to increase the visibility of civil society, entrepreneurial, and scientific efforts and to strengthen colorectal cancer prevention in the long term. Free submissions via the online form, including a detailed project description, are possible until January 31, 2026. Contributions realized between October 2024 and December 2025 that, through their sustainable nature, provide new impetus for education and prevention are supported.
After the application phase, an independent jury reviews the submitted projects. The award winners will be announced on June 21, 2026, at a ceremonial event at AXICA, Berlin, and will receive a distinction that highlights their commitment nationwide. Participants may include private individuals as well as non-profit organizations, companies, and educational institutions that develop creative approaches to early detection and education. The aim of the award is to honor exemplary initiatives and to further advance the dialogue between medicine, science, and society. Interested applicants can find all necessary information for submission on the Felix Burda Foundation’s website – the first step toward pioneering projects in colorectal cancer prevention.
