Felix Burda Award

The Felix Burda Foundation honors outstanding and sustainable initiatives in colorectal cancer prevention with the Felix Burda Award. Nationwide, innovative projects from private individuals, non-profit organizations, companies, and public institutions can be submitted free of charge. Applications are possible until January 31, 2026 in the categories “Medicine and Science” and “Commitment of the Year.” The aim of the award is to highlight exemplary engagements and to recognize sustainable concepts that make a measurable contribution to early detection and education. The award targets individuals and groups who advance colorectal cancer prevention with creative approaches and long-term impact.

The project period spans 15 months (October 2024 to December 2025) and culminates in a ceremonial award presentation in summer 2026. A high-profile jury evaluates entries based on the criteria of innovation, sustainability aspects, exemplary character, and relevance to colorectal cancer prevention. The Felix Burda Award not only provides a platform for networking among scientists, politicians, associations, and affected individuals but also achieves a reach of over 260 million contacts through media coverage. Thus, the award ranks among the most significant honors in Germany’s healthcare sector and sets a visible mark for commitment against colorectal cancer.
