Description
The Saarland Investment Credit Bank AG (SIKB) provides condominium owner associations in Saarland with a low-interest loan for comprehensive modernization and renovation measures. The funding program targets private owners in a community who wish to energetically optimize their housing stock, remove structural barriers, or implement age-appropriate conversions. The loan covers up to 100% of eligible costs and offers flexible terms with a grace period of one year without repayments and an interest rate fixed for up to ten years. Applications can be submitted continuously before the start of construction, thereby supporting both spontaneous planning and long-term investment decisions equally.
Eligible for funding are condominium owner associations that present a valid resolution with a two-thirds majority and at least 50% of the co-ownership shares. Sufficient creditworthiness must be demonstrated, and the overall financing of the measure must be secured. Energy-efficient renovations must be certified by an expert and comply with the current minimum requirements of the KfW programs. Eligible expenses include all modernization work, insulation measures, heating optimizations, as well as barrier-reduced and barrier-free conversion measures. For the application, the condominium owner association requires a completed loan application form, owners’ resolutions, proof of financing, and an expert report or confirmation of the planned energy measures. The SIKB supports the funding process as the central point of contact, thereby promoting sustainable residential development in Saarland.
