Description

The Trenntstadt Berlin Funding Fund supports creative initiatives in Berlin that avoid packaging waste and strengthen waste separation. Private individuals, citizen initiatives, associations, federations, and non-profit organizations can apply for financial grants for project ideas that particularly inspire hard-to-reach target groups to act in an environmentally conscious manner. Funding is provided for measures in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, education for sustainable development, climate protection, energy efficiency, as well as training and further education. A prerequisite is that the project is carried out in Berlin, begins at least eight weeks after the application is submitted, and does not constitute a legally mandatory compensatory measure. The Berlin Nature Conservation Foundation is responsible for advising, disbursing, and auditing the use of funds.

The funds can be used for project-related material and fee costs, material expenses, and work equipment. Selection is based on the criteria of innovation, addressing hard-to-reach target groups, sustainability aspects, and measurability of project success. A completed cost and financing plan, an original signed application submission, and a detailed project description must be submitted. Continuous application submission is possible, provided the application is submitted eight weeks before the project start. This targeted funding is suitable for lectures, workshops, artistic actions, or pilot projects that pave the way toward a sustainable, circular waste management system in Berlin and have a long-term impact. Interested applicants can find guidance in the funding guidelines and can flexibly use the online portal of the Berlin Nature Conservation Foundation to easily submit their ideas and implement them professionally.
