Description
The funding fund "Vielfältig l(i)eben," initiated by the Stiftung Bildung, supports non-profit associations and interest groups nationwide in implementing participatory and practice-oriented projects on sexual and gender diversity in daycares as well as primary and secondary schools. The program links the fields of education, children and youth, social affairs, vocational training & further education, and work & social services, aiming to make the realities of life of LGBTQI+ children, youth, and rainbow families visible, reduce prejudices, and sustainably strengthen acceptance in educational settings. Sponsors are daycare or school support associations through which applications can be submitted by young people, teachers, educators, social pedagogues, and volunteers with a current exemption notice. Implementation is practice-oriented and participatory to ensure long-term integration into the daily routines of the institutions. There is no fixed application deadline; applications can be submitted continuously.
Project proposals are funded with a grant between €500 and €5,000, with applications possible at any time. Evaluation criteria include participatory planning, diversity & inclusion, ecological and social sustainability, as well as innovation and practical relevance. Prerequisites for funding are an inclusive concept, resource conservation, and proof of non-profit status via the current exemption notice of the respective support association. Pure material procurement, expensive new construction or renovation measures without involving young target groups, high fees for external experts without sustainable integration, training for adults, accommodation costs, and profit-oriented companies are excluded. Stiftung Bildung welcomes projects that bring the topic of diversity into everyday daycare and school life through workshops, action weeks, or media work and anchor it in the long term.
