Description
The Edmund Siemers Foundation supports training and continuing education projects, scholarships, as well as conferences and seminars with the aim of deepening the integration of both parts of Germany and more strongly incorporating the Central and Eastern European countries into the European Community. Nationwide support is provided to pupils, students, early-career professionals, and educational institutions that engage with issues related to the European integration process. As grants, these measures enable targeted educational impulses that strengthen both professional competencies and intercultural understanding, thereby creating a long-term bridge between East and West.
All expenses related to training and continuing education, the provision of scholarships, and the organization of conferences and seminars are eligible for funding. Projects can be applied for on an ongoing basis, provided participants demonstrate a clear connection to European integration. For example, international student exchange programs have been supported, networks of Club of Rome schools established, and scholarships awarded for study stays of Central and Eastern European students. Through continuous funding, encounter formats and professional platforms are created that enable participants to actively contribute to European unification.
