Description
The funding program supports environmental education institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia in the implementation and networking of measures for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Sponsors such as non-profit associations, foundations, public-law corporations, and educational institutions can receive reimbursement of up to 80% of eligible expenses, but no more than €130,000 per institution per year. Funded are subject-specific further training, regional networking activities, support of the state program "School of the Future," as well as joint public relations work. An integrated overall concept forms the basis for initial applications, while follow-up applications must be submitted with a current action, cost, and financing plan. Project start is possible from April 1, 2024; initial applications must be submitted by October 31, and follow-up applications by December 15 of each year.
The goal is to strengthen a statewide quality network in which information and knowledge transfer, advanced training, and vertical and horizontal cooperation go hand in hand. A prerequisite is the active participation in all bindingly described ESD fields of action as well as alignment with the state strategy for sustainable development in NRW. The State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection North Rhine-Westphalia (LANUV) reviews and approves the applications within the framework of the funding guidelines. Interested institutions thus receive solid support to develop and further expand participatory learning formats and to sustainably consolidate the exchange of experience within the network.
