Description
The Dr. Alfred Vinzl Foundation promotes teaching and research at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in the fields of economics and social sciences, law, as well as philosophy and humanities on a non-profit basis. The focus is particularly on the scientific exchange between full-time professors, research staff, and students with the University of St. Gallen and the University of Bern. Travel expenses, accommodation costs, equipment procurement, and other project-related expenses can be applied for teaching and research projects. Personnel costs, daily allowances, fees, representation expenses, consumables, costs for literature acquisition, and printing subsidies are not eligible for funding. Selection is made by the foundation’s board based on the quality of the research project and its alignment with the foundation’s objectives.
Applications should be submitted informally and digitally, preferably well in advance of the project start date. Required are a project description, a total cost calculation with a financing plan, a supporting statement from the respective chairperson, and a declaration regarding the disbursement of funds. Multiple submissions before the board meetings (January 17, 2025; April 18, 2025; June 20, 2025; October 10, 2025; and December 5, 2025) are possible. The foundation ensures a transparent and continuous funding process: from application to proof of use, it monitors the appropriate, economical, and efficient use of funds. In doing so, it actively supports early-career researchers and establishes cross-border cooperation in teaching and research.
