Description

The Dr. Broermann Foundation supports nationwide pioneering projects for disease prevention among children and adolescents. Funding is particularly provided for initiatives that establish sustainable partnerships in close cooperation with kindergartens, primary schools, or secondary schools. The focus is on age group-oriented concepts aimed at preventing social and societal disorder patterns such as alcohol abuse, drug addiction, eating and nutritional disorders, lack of physical activity, behavioral issues, and overweight. The grant can be used both to continue already successful prevention measures and to initiate new sponsorships. Educational institutions, non-profit, and public organizations are equally eligible to apply and submit their projects on an ongoing basis.

The selection is based on clearly defined evaluation criteria: special attention is given to the sustainability of the project, the target group-oriented approach, and the emphasis on the aforementioned diseases and disorders. Applicant institutions must demonstrate how long-term cooperation and needs-based measures can strengthen the health literacy of young people and prevent or delay health impairments at an early stage. The funding aims not only to support individual projects but also to create lasting networks between foundations, educational institutions, and providers, which together make an important contribution to relieving the healthcare system and sustainably embedding health-promoting lifestyles.
