Support for Independent Welfare Organizations

In Baden-Württemberg, the state offers a continuously available grant opportunity through the Funding of Independent Welfare Organizations, which specifically supports charitable umbrella organizations of the LIGA of independent welfare organizations. These include, among others, Caritas, DPWV, DRK, AWO, Diakonie, as well as the Israelite Religious Community. The objective of this measure is the partial coverage of ongoing personnel expenses and operating costs incurred within the framework of the welfare mandate. This particularly includes efforts for the planning and implementation of funding programs, the provision of advisory services, as well as the organization and execution of social services in the state.

A prerequisite for funding is membership in the LIGA of independent welfare organizations. Eligible expenses explicitly include personnel costs and operational business expenses. The broad funding orientation enables the associations to sustainably strengthen their core tasks in the social sector and ensure the provision of services to citizens in various life situations. Through this support, the state makes an important contribution to strengthening the social infrastructure and relieves the charitable organizations in Baden-Württemberg of indispensable administrative and operating costs.
