Funding by the Günter Wommer Foundation (individual funding, non-profit organizations & public relations)

The Günter Wommer Foundation continuously grants subsidies in the Birkenfeld district for people with congenital disabilities and their families, as well as for non-profit institutions and initiatives. Projects are funded in the areas of social affairs, health, children and youth, commitment to social cohesion/democracy, and work & social issues. Eligible applicants are private individuals residing in or with a funding purpose in the Birkenfeld district, as well as legal entities under public law or non-profit organizations with appropriate proof. The aim of individual funding is the sustainable support of affected persons and their families in participating in social life, while for organizations the foundation’s focus is on the procurement of materials, event and project costs, and public relations for awareness-raising.

Funding includes, among other things, the acquisition of aids and teaching materials, the organization of informational or encounter events, as well as the creation and dissemination of publications in line with the foundation’s objectives. Requirements include proof of congenital disability for individuals and proof of non-profit status for organizations. Applications can be submitted at any time, as there is no fixed deadline. Selection is based on regional relevance and the goal of reducing barriers, enabling participation, and strengthening public awareness of people with disabilities. Thus, the Günter Wommer Foundation provides a reliable source of funding for innovative projects and initiatives that promote social cohesion and contribute to inclusive development in the Birkenfeld district.
