Funding of the Cologne Tafel Foundation

Since 2007, the Kölner Tafel Foundation has continuously provided financial grants in North Rhine-Westphalia as a non-profit organization to ensure the long-term preservation and smooth operation of Tafel Köln e.V. Using funds from the foundation's assets as well as the generated income, the foundation secures fundamental logistical and financial conditions and thus makes a decisive contribution to supplying several thousand people daily in Cologne and the surrounding area with food. Additionally, related non-profit organizations dedicated to poverty alleviation and food aid are supported on a case-by-case basis. Through this form of funding, social structures are strengthened and sustainable aid projects in the region are promoted.

The funding is exclusively aimed at organizations recognized as non-profit, with a focus on Tafel Köln e.V. Applications for grants can be submitted continuously, as there are no fixed deadlines. Eligible are projects and initiatives in the fields of social affairs, work & social issues that correspond to the foundation's purposes and ensure the long-term performance capacity of the food bank work. A prerequisite for application is recognition as a non-profit organization. The foundation aims to sustainably secure the structures of food aid and to preserve non-profit engagement in the long term. Through transparent actions and a clear allocation of funds, the Kölner Tafel Foundation makes an important contribution to poverty reduction and strengthens social cohesion in the Cologne metropolitan region.
