Description
The MWG Foundation supports non-profit organizations that aim to sustainably promote the common good in Magdeburg and the surrounding area. The focus of the funding is on projects in the fields of youth and elderly care, arts and culture, education, general and vocational training, as well as sports and civic engagement. With a grant of up to €1500, innovative ideas are to be realized that strengthen social cohesion and advance engagement in the region. The funding measure is aimed at organizations recognized as non-profit and ideally having a clear connection to the MWG Housing Cooperative. Numerous fields of engagement such as education, science, training and further education, work and social affairs, as well as culture and media, are equally taken into account.
Applications are conveniently submitted via an online form that supports organizations in comprehensively presenting their projects. As a prerequisite for funding, the organization's statutes and a valid tax exemption certificate from the tax office must be submitted in particular. In addition, supplementary documents such as a detailed budget plan, a thorough project description or concept, and a sustainability questionnaire may be provided. These documents help to precisely describe the proposed project and transparently demonstrate its positive impact in the Magdeburg area. The MWG Foundation places special emphasis on projects that are carried by volunteer engagement and are sustainably documented.
The funding deadlines are set for March 31 and September 30 of each calendar year, with the possibility of continuous application submission. The program targets organizations implementing projects that specifically support vulnerable groups, including children, youth, and seniors, while simultaneously contributing to cultural, social, and sporting diversity. With this initiative, the MWG Foundation sends a clear signal for civic engagement and social participation. Through financial support, innovative approaches are to be promoted that provide long-term positive impulses for the community in Magdeburg and furthermore stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue between the various funding areas.
