Description
Under the leadership of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the State of Brandenburg, the funding program Healthy Children Networks (RL-NGK) supports public agencies throughout Brandenburg and is aimed at young families from pregnancy until the child’s third year of life. At its core are trained and voluntarily engaged family mentors who work in close cooperation with regional health institutions. As a grant, up to 90% of eligible expenses are covered, with a maximum of €165,000 per network and fiscal year (up to €90,000 per network when funding two networks in one area). Eligible expenses include those in the fields of health, social affairs, and work & social services – including personnel costs, material resources, training and further education, parental education offerings, and public relations.
Continuously, the program provides ongoing funding opportunities: established networks submit their applications annually by January 31, while newly founded networks may apply at any time. Funding prerequisites include recognition as a Healthy Children Network carrier in the State of Brandenburg, cooperation with a regional health care institution, compliance with budgetary regulations, and submission of a concept approved by the granting authority. The goal is to consolidate local support services, strengthen contacts between experts, cooperation partners, and volunteers, and to adequately reach families with low social status and single parents. Through preventive measures and coordinated networking, the program contributes to the sustainable promotion of health and social strengthening of young families in Brandenburg.
