Description
As a continuous funding measure of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, this initiative supports the Austrian Society for Foreign Policy and the United Nations (ÖGAVN) in comprehensively informing the Austrian population about foreign and international policy issues. In the thematic areas of education, engagement for social cohesion and democracy, vocational training & further education, as well as work & social affairs, publications, events, and digital information offerings are funded. Since January 1, 2013, the funding has been granted indefinitely and is provided as a grant in accordance with the applicable budgetary authorization. Applications can be submitted at any time regardless of fixed deadlines, enabling long-term planning and continuous project work.
Only non-profit organizations that implement sustainable concepts to strengthen public discourse on European and global issues within the framework of this funding line are supported. The objective is to create low-threshold access to reliable information and thus raise awareness of Austrian foreign policy. The target audience of the information offerings comprises all persons living in Austria. Department VI.3 – Budget Affairs and Controlling of the BMEIA is responsible for administrative processing and ensures transparent use of funds. This funding opportunity aims to enable organizations to develop innovative formats that contribute to strengthening democratic participation and reflective exchange at the European and international levels.
