Description

The Roland Gräfe Foundation – Foundation for Art and Culture based in Saxony has been supporting diverse art and cultural projects for over a decade. It addresses both professional and amateur artists, students, as well as non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and art associations. The focus is on plein airs, exhibitions, and matinees, which are realized through grants. Inquiries and funding applications can be submitted continuously, allowing for flexible project implementation in terms of timing. The foundation places great value on creative outdoor painting, interdisciplinary encounters, and the mediation of artistic processes in order to strengthen regional cultural spaces and promote artistic networks.

Furthermore, the foundation awards a art prize biennially, which honors outstanding positions in painting and is accompanied by a jury session, award ceremony, as well as an exhibition and catalog presentation. Previous laureates have come, among others, from Lusatia and Vogtland, underscoring the connection to Saxon art landscapes. The funds raised are exclusively used for the realization of artistic projects in the fields of culture and media. A prerequisite for funding is a thematically appropriate application as well as contact via email or telephone. The foundation supports both individual projects and collaborations with partner institutions at home and abroad, thus creating sustainable bridges between artists, audiences, and cultural stakeholders.
