Description
The RWE Foundation supports projects with this grant program that are dedicated intensively to the promotion of children and youth and focus on equal opportunities, intercultural exchange, and social cohesion. The foundation collaborates nationwide with non-profit organizations to implement innovative concepts that have a long-term impact. The primary focus of the funding is the reduction of social disadvantages, enabling projects that provide all young people – regardless of their family background – with equal educational and participation opportunities. Projects that contribute sustainably to social progress through own contributions and multiplier effects are given special support.
The funding program places particular emphasis on international and intercultural understanding. It is aimed at organizations that strengthen intercultural dialogue and promote social cohesion through their work. The projects should not only address acute needs but also be scalable and sustainable beyond the funding period of a maximum of three years. Concepts that demonstrate a long-term design and include, in addition to financial support, personnel and material own contributions are especially evaluated. With a funding amount of €20,000.00, initiatives are supported that set clear, positive impulses for disadvantaged groups and the promotion of democracy and social engagement.
Organizations applying for this program must ensure that their projects align with the statutory purpose of the RWE Foundation and possess solid, long-term planning. Eligible expenses include fees, personnel costs, and material costs, while purely construction-related or renovation measures are not supported. Required application documents include, among others, the tax office’s certificate of non-profit status and the organization’s statutes. Application deadlines are April 1, June 1, October 1, and December 1, 2025 – depending on the funding volume. These structured requirements ensure that projects with high multiplier effects and sustainable impact can be selected and implemented.
