Description
Jena University Sports Foundation supports projects that contribute to the preservation and modernization of sports facilities while sustainably strengthening broad-based sports activities in Thuringia. The focus is on children’s, recreational, university, and competitive sports, through which the quality of life in the region is intended to be improved. In addition to direct support for sports venues, the foundation also aims to advance research and innovation in the field of sports. This funding approach ensures the long-term material basis in the environment of Friedrich Schiller University and USV Jena, so that modern sports infrastructures and scientific inquiries go hand in hand.
The funding program is aimed at non-profit organizations and initiatives that implement projects in the areas of children and youth, sports, research & innovation, work & social affairs, as well as culture & media. Funding is provided as a grant with ongoing application opportunities. This continuous support enables the applying institutions to respond flexibly to changing requirements in the sports environment and to develop forward-looking concepts. In addition to the maintenance and expansion of sports facilities, the promotion of educational measures and scientific publications is also supported, highlighting the importance of sports as an integrative part of social life.
To benefit from the funding, it is necessary to establish contact with the foundation’s board, as a personal coordination is part of the application process. This measure ensures a needs-based allocation of grants and promotes dialogue between the foundation and the applying institutions.
