Support of the Children’s Heart Foundation (Our Funding Projects)

The Children’s Heart Foundation continuously funds research and care projects nationwide in support of children with heart conditions, aiming to establish innovative treatment methods and family-oriented care concepts. Public institutions and non-profit organizations have access to a grant program implemented in close cooperation with pediatric cardiology clinics. The focus is on projects that demonstrate a high degree of innovation both scientifically and practically, ensuring long-term benefits for affected families. Thanks to ongoing funding opportunities, targeted projects can be continuously supported from the initial idea phase through to sustainable implementation.

Eligible applicants are those who, together with a pediatric cardiology clinic, develop measures that significantly improve the care situation or the research status regarding congenital heart defects in children. Applications must include a proposal in accordance with the foundation’s award guidelines and statutes, a detailed project description, and a comprehensive budget plan. Selection is based on the evaluation criteria of benefit for children with heart conditions, scientific and practical innovation, and sustainability of the project. Applications may be submitted at any time, enabling clinics and non-profit organizations to advance pioneering initiatives in pediatric cardiology across all regions of Germany.
