Description

The Media and Contemporary History Foundation specifically supports scientific research projects in Bavaria that deal with classical mass media and contemporary historical issues. The focus is on funding projects that examine the design, effects, influence, and historical changes of the press, broadcasting, and visual media. In addition, analyses of contemporary historical developments are supported, as well as scholarships for research stays and publications that make new findings accessible to a broad specialist audience. Eligible to apply are professors and private lecturers at the University of Regensburg, who can submit their funding applications online throughout the year. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant, thereby supporting both innovative project proposals and dissertation projects equally.

For the application, only the completed online application form is required, which is available via the Lucom Interaction Platform of the University of Regensburg. Interested researchers need their personal login credentials (username and password) and can submit an application at any time, as there are no fixed deadlines. The aim of the funding is to sustainably strengthen media and contemporary history research through targeted project funding, scholarship awards, and publication support. The Media and Contemporary History Foundation thus makes a valuable contribution to deepening media studies and historical discourses within the academic environment.
