Funding by the Walter K. Werner Foundation

The Walter K. Werner Foundation supports a variety of initiatives in Saxony that preserve the Ore Mountain customs, regional folk art, and traditional crafts. The focus is on projects around Seiffen that contribute to strengthening local identity and sustainable regional development. Funding is provided for cultural and educational initiatives as well as construction projects in building and monument preservation, and measures for rural development and urban infrastructure. Through the recurring awarding of grants, there is the opportunity to continuously submit and implement creative ideas and innovative concepts for the preservation and transmission of local traditions.

Companies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and private individuals can submit applications on an ongoing basis, provided that their headquarters or project location is in the spa town of Seiffen or its immediate surroundings. The prerequisite is that the project has a clear focus on Ore Mountain customs, folk art, or crafts and contributes to the revitalization of regional culture. Submissions are made easily via a contact form or by email. Through targeted funding, local craft businesses, associations, and project groups are equally empowered to keep the cultural heritage alive and set new impulses for the region’s development. Interested initiators thus benefit from long-term support that sustainably ensures the preservation and transmission of traditional craftsmanship.
