Description

The Zukunft mit Kirche Foundation specifically supports non-profit organizations and public institutions within the Neustadt-Wunstorf church district in Lower Saxony to sustainably strengthen church life in rural communities. Applicants must belong to one of the ten supported parishes (Corvinus-Wunstorf, St. Johannes-Wunstorf, Stift-Wunstorf, Bokeloh, Dedensen/Gümmer, Groß Munzel/Landringhausen, Idensen/Mesmerode, Kolenfeld, Luthe, and Schloss Ricklingen). Within the framework of open-ended funding opportunities, the foundation continuously awards grants for projects that enliven social interaction locally and promote democratic cohesion. The funding areas particularly include engagement with children, youth, and seniors, as well as diaconal initiatives that enrich parish life and enable intergenerational encounters.

Examples of funded projects include confirmation holiday seminars, children’s and youth retreats, the creation of birthday booklets for older parish members, and a variety of diaconal services that foster exchange between young and old. The foundation places special emphasis on the long-term impact and local anchoring of the projects. Through continuous support, parishes in the southern region of the church district can implement innovative ideas and develop new formats together with interested parties, thereby sustainably securing church cohesion in the villages. Applications can be submitted at any time; an early clarification of funding requirements offers the optimal entry point into the application process.
