Funding of the Foundation for a Sustainable Southwest Palatinate

The Foundation for a Sustainable Southwest Palatinate supports innovative ideas, projects, and business startups as well as talented trainees and students in Rhineland-Palatinate. Private individuals, companies, and public institutions can apply for funding for business startups, company financing, vocational training and further education, research & innovation, regional development, and agriculture. Funding is provided for material resources such as prototype construction and experimental equipment, travel expenses for research-related stays abroad, coaching and consulting services, as well as prize money and scholarships. The maximum funding amount is up to €2,500 per bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral thesis, with a special award honoring outstanding theses up to €500. For newly founded or existing companies, idealistic and financial support is possible over a period of up to three years. Criteria such as innovation potential, regional relevance, creation of qualified jobs, as well as ethical and ecological aspects are taken into account in the decision-making process.

Applications must be submitted digitally and before the project starts. An important part of the application is the completed form including project description, innovation potential, and proof of the concrete project start. A final report at the end of the project is a prerequisite for the final evaluation. The application deadlines are January 31 and July 31 of each year. Through its support, the foundation contributes to strengthening the image and future viability of the Southwest Palatinate and to creating qualified jobs in the region. Potential stakeholders thus receive the opportunity to successfully implement their projects and contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
