Funding of the Foundation for the Promotion of Philately and Postal History (Project Funding/Grants)

The project funding of the Foundation for the Promotion of Philately and Postal History supports non-profit organizations, associations, clubs, educational institutions, as well as private applicants throughout Germany in professionally outstanding initiatives aimed at preserving and further developing philatelic and postal historical cultural assets. The focus is on projects in the areas of youth promotion, public relations, exhibitions, international contacts, literature, research, and the preservation of historical collections. The foundation provides voluntary grants upon written application, expressly excluding commercial purposes. In doing so, it contributes to strengthening interest in stamps, postal history, and bibliophilic holdings, and to developing publicly accessible offerings for collectors, scholars, and the interested general public.

Applicants submit a well-founded project description with justification, a timeline, cost and financing plan, as well as evidence of professional competence and – in the case of printed works – a manuscript copy. Decision criteria include the significance of the project for philately or postal history as well as its scientific quality. A continuous submission option allows funding applications to be submitted at any time and grants to be made available promptly. Approval entails obligations to make the results accessible and to provide transparent accounting.
