Description

The Würzburg Environmental and Nature Foundation supports non-profit organizations, projects, and individuals in Bavaria with its proceeds, who are committed to environmental, nature, and landscape conservation. The aim of the grants is to create, preserve, and improve livable environmental conditions for humans, animals, and plants. Priority is given to scientific work, environmental and youth education, sustainable development projects, as well as exhibitions and publications. Grants are awarded semi-annually – in the spring months of March/April and in autumn (September/October) – and are aligned with the statutory funding areas of research & innovation, science, education, energy efficiency and climate protection, as well as vocational training and further education.

Eligible applicants are non-profit entities and private applicants, provided their projects are not already covered by other grant providers. A prerequisite is activity in the field of environmental, nature, and landscape conservation as well as a demonstrable financial need for support. Applications must be submitted informally along with a detailed description of the planned activity and the documented financial requirement. The Würzburg Environmental and Nature Foundation selects project ideas from the submitted applications that, through a one-time grant, provide sustainable added value for environmental education, species protection, and climate-friendly development. Interested parties can submit their documents by early April or early October to be considered at the next decision-making session.
