Description
The subsidy for exemption from meal contributions in Viennese childcare facilities supports low-income families and single parents whose child or children aged 0 years up to compulsory school age attend a municipal or recognized private childcare facility in Vienna. As a grant, up to €84.85 per month is covered, with the payment made directly to the respective facility. This measure aims to fully cover the financial burden of families for the costs of breakfast, lunch, and snacks, thereby securing access to early childhood care.
Interested applicants must prove their main residence in Vienna and have their child living in the same household. Eligible are persons receiving minimum income support or with a monthly net household income of no more than €2,019.06 (including family allowance). Applications can be submitted continuously as long as funding is available and apply for a care period of twelve months, at most from September 1 to August 31 of the following year. Copies of all relevant income documents must be attached to the application – from net salary and child benefit notices to pensions and maternity pay. Proof of attendance at the childcare facility must be confirmed by the management of the facility or the childminders.
