Description
The FEIN pilot projects promote innovative approaches to voluntary engagement in Berlin neighborhoods. Non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, as well as public institutions based or primarily active in Berlin, are sought to test new formats for citizen participation and social networking. Offered as a grant, the model projects specifically support civic engagement within residential quarters and contribute to strengthening social cohesion at the neighborhood level. The focus is on projects that promote neighborhood connection and the involvement of local actors, as well as demonstrating their potential for transferability and innovation.
Funding is particularly interesting for citizen initiatives, local initiatives, and civil society actors who wish to initiate and further develop sustainable community projects on a voluntary basis. Prerequisites for funding include a close connection to the neighborhood and anchoring of the project in voluntary engagement. Evaluation criteria include the degree of neighborhood involvement, the contribution to social cohesion, as well as the feasibility and transferability of the concept. Applications must include a detailed project description, a comprehensive financing and timeline plan, and proof of non-profit status or the association’s statutes. Interested parties can find further information in the funding database of the State of Berlin.
