Description
The K-ElWOG Fund of the Carinthian State Government (Department 15 – Location, Spatial Planning and Energy) supports private individuals and companies in Carinthia in the construction of innovative renewable energy plants and the implementation of comprehensive energy efficiency programs. Funding is provided for pilot plants, studies, and concepts for new technologies as well as measures for optimal energy utilization. The grant is awarded as a non-repayable subsidy of up to 50% of eligible expenses. Applications must be submitted before the project start; the maximum project duration is 24 months. Funding has been available indefinitely since 01/01/2014; submitting an application incurs no costs.
Investment costs for significant pilot projects with demonstrably increased efficiency and environmentally friendly sustainability, costs for scientific studies and concept development, as well as expenses for programs promoting efficient energy use are eligible for funding. Compliance with official emission limits (exhaust gases, noise) and the installation of measuring devices for continuous documentation of heat, electricity output, and emissions are prerequisites. Additionally, further public funding from other regional authorities must be utilized. Selection is based on criteria such as degree of innovation, contribution to new renewable energy technologies, and cooperation with research or educational institutions. The application must include information about the applicants (name, address, organizational form), a technical project description, expected CO₂ savings, financing plan, and cost-effectiveness calculation. This program makes a decisive contribution to the regional energy transition and climate protection in the federal state of Carinthia.
