Description

The funding guideline for strengthening allotment gardening in Brandenburg supports non-profit allotment garden associations and the Brandenburg State Association of Garden Friends e.V. in investment community projects in the areas of infrastructure, public relations, and qualification. Between September 12, 2025, and December 31, 2026, eligible organizations can apply for a one-time grant of up to €30,000 per calendar year. Investment measures include the preservation, conversion, or new construction of club buildings and structural facilities, the renewal of outdoor facilities including accompanying plantings, the professional removal of asbestos-containing building materials, as well as the initial acquisition of office furniture and basic IT equipment. Furthermore, non-investment expenses for flyers, publications, exhibitions, further training, conferences, and workshops are supported. The funding rate amounts to 60% to 80% of eligible costs, with in-kind contributions up to 40% being credited.

Requirements include proof of allotment gardening or tax-related non-profit status, a current extract from the register of associations, as well as a site plan with a project concept. For the application, the fully completed form must be sent to the State Office for Rural Development, Agriculture, and Land Consolidation in Potsdam-Groß Glienicke. The application must be accompanied by a project description or brief concept, financing plan with proof of own contribution, valid statutes, lease or usage agreement, site plans, and photos of the current condition. Payment is made after approval on an advance basis; the final proof of use must be provided in the form of a factual and numerical report. With this funding, allotment gardening makes an important contribution to greening urban spaces, climate and environmental protection, as well as improving the quality of life in Brandenburg’s communities.
