Description

The Foundation of Sparkasse Herford, established in 2005 through the merger of four individual foundations, annually supports a wide range of charitable projects in the Herford district. With a broad funding spectrum that includes environmental and nature conservation, social affairs, sports, energy efficiency, as well as culture and media, the foundation supports initiatives that serve the common good of the citizens. Financial support is provided in the form of a grant and is exclusively aimed at non-profit organizations implementing sustainable and innovative projects that have a tangible positive impact in the region. The focus is also on promoting measures that preserve natural living conditions and advance social inclusion.

The selection of projects is based on strict criteria, such as orientation towards the common good and the sustainable design of the measure. Supported activities include, among others, those dedicated to the preservation and care of biotopes, renaturation efforts, or studies on species conservation. Youth welfare, integrated training programs, sporting activities, and cultural projects are also supported. Funding is specifically directed at initiatives in the Herford district that integrate social measures such as support for people with disabilities and elderly care into their projects. This ensures that only projects which have not yet started or been completed are considered, guaranteeing continuous and targeted funding.

A comprehensive application procedure is provided. Eligible organizations must submit a detailed action plan, which includes a thorough project description as well as a precise cost breakdown with a financing plan. Furthermore, a notice from the tax office confirming recognized non-profit status must be attached. The written application should be submitted no later than four weeks before the advisory board meeting, as late applications will be considered at the subsequent meeting. Careful adherence to the application guidelines and a convincing presentation of the sustainable impact of the measure are crucial for successful funding.
