Description
Carriers of generation-relevant projects in Styria benefit from an ongoing grant program specifically aimed at strengthening older generations, equitable participation, and intergenerational cohesion. Private individuals, interest groups, associations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and public entities can apply for funding for projects in the fields of social affairs, engagement for social cohesion, democracy, as well as work & social issues. A prerequisite is a contribution in financial, material, or personnel form, proof of professional competence and full financing, as well as adherence to high ethical standards without exclusion or discrimination. The goal is a Styria in which all generations can live self-determined, active, and dignified lives. As a non-repayable grant, the program supports sustainable initiatives that empower older people and create intergenerational meeting spaces.
Both personnel costs and material costs are eligible for funding, provided the planned measures contribute to the strategic objectives of the A6 Department of Society and consider principles such as diversity, equal opportunity, networking, and sustainability. For applications up to €2,500, a simplified request is sufficient, whereas for amounts over €15,000, a detailed concept, personnel, and project plan must be submitted. Evaluation is ongoing, with quarterly deadlines for 2025 (December 15, 2024; March 15, 2025; July 15, 2025; and October 15, 2025). The current funding application must include a total cost breakdown and, if applicable, supplementary documents. Selection is based on professional and substantive quality, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Internal organizational training and further education, formal educational services, as well as political-religious promotional activities are not eligible for funding. Thus, this funding program makes a significant contribution to intergenerational cohesion in Styria.
