Description
The Edmund Siemers Foundation supports nonprofit organizations, foundations, and public institutions in the Hamburg metropolitan region and within the EU through the funding program Youth and Community Work. The focus is on the integration of social marginalized groups and minorities through municipal youth work and independent projects. The program targets independent youth welfare organizations, NGOs, church and nonprofit associations, as well as initiatives engaged in socially disadvantaged areas. Eligible are measures that provide educational offerings, create meeting spaces, and strengthen democratic coexistence. Thanks to ongoing application opportunities, project leaders can apply for support at any time to promote socially disadvantaged youth and consolidate local community structures.
Funding is provided for, among other things, national and international educational measures, research projects, as well as neighborhood work in disadvantaged districts. Furthermore, the funding spectrum includes the construction and operation of children's homes and training facilities in Eastern EU member states. The Edmund Siemers Foundation places special emphasis on cooperation between civil society, business, and public sponsors. A prerequisite for a grant is proof of a registered office or activity in the Hamburg metropolitan region or in an EU state, as well as a clear project objective to integrate social marginalized groups into the community. With this grant program, the foundation sustainably contributes to improving access to education, promoting democratic engagement, and strengthening social cohesion at the local and European levels.
