Description

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate supports municipal cultural institutions and culture-related projects that are designed as festival-like initiatives with supraregional impact and high artistic standards. Public institutions such as municipal authorities or legal entities with municipal participation receive a grant amounting to 30% of eligible expenses, and in justified exceptional cases up to 50%. Eligible costs particularly include fees, taxes, and social security contributions for artists, event costs, as well as expenses for organizational and operational personnel and administration. With this approach, the program strengthens cultural diversity in Rhineland-Palatinate and provides impetus for sustainable festival structures.

A prerequisite for a successful application is the clearly defined festival-like orientation of the project as well as securing one-third of the total costs through ticket sales and another third through self-financing. Ticket prices should be in the mid-range compared to similar regional events. The application must include the form for the cost and financing plan (Annex 1), the supplementary cost breakdown (Annex 2), the overview sheet (Annex 3), as well as a detailed project description. Approval is granted by the Supervisory and Service Directorate (ADD) Rhineland-Palatinate based on a professional recommendation from the Ministry for Family, Women, Culture and Integration. Applications can be submitted until October 30 of each year for the following calendar year, offering municipal sponsors the opportunity to consistently implement their festival ideas and realize cultural flagship projects.
