Funding of Social Projects and Initiatives (FSD Foundation)

The FSD Foundation supports non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and public institutions in Berlin and Brandenburg in the implementation of social projects and initiatives. The focus of the funding is on young people, homeless individuals, seniors, and people with disabilities. The goal is to sustainably strengthen their educational, professional, and leisure-related resources. The foundation acts as an umbrella organization and service provider, combining its role with practical assistance: Since its founding in 2001, more than 15,000 people annually benefit from services such as initial reception and clearing centers for unaccompanied minor refugees, transitional housing for the homeless, or workshop places for people with disabilities.

Grants are provided for projects in the social sector that are implemented in Berlin or Brandenburg and aim to promote participation and skill development of the target groups in the areas of social affairs, children and youth, education, vocational training, as well as work & social affairs. Applications can be submitted continuously, allowing for flexible planning. Through its funding practice, the FSD Foundation pursues the overarching goal of creating sustainable structures and promoting solidarity-based action in the region. In doing so, it makes a valuable contribution to solving social challenges and strengthening the common good.
