Description
The Location Promotion of the Vienna Business Agency is aimed at small, medium, and large enterprises as well as founders from the manufacturing sector, production-related services, waste management, and research and development. Funding is provided for the new construction or expansion of production facilities and headquarters locations in Vienna with a duration of up to 48 months. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum project volume of €150,000 (small enterprises) or €300,000 (medium and large enterprises) and may apply for a grant amounting to 10% up to a maximum of 20% of the eligible project costs. Headquarters establishments must create at least 50 new full-time equivalents in Vienna. Eligible costs include, among others, construction measures (new construction, conversion), purchase of building fabric, external architectural and planning services, as well as finance leasing with a minimum term of ten years. Non-eligible costs include capitalized own work, ongoing operating expenses, land acquisition, and invoices under €200 net.
The evaluation of submissions is based on economic effects, innovation orientation, and social benefit. Ongoing applications until 31.12.2026 with fixed submission deadlines (March 31, June 30, September 30, December 31) allow for flexible project planning. For the application submission, in addition to the fully completed online application, a de minimis declaration, the latest annual financial statement or income-expenditure statement, a cost plan confirmed by civil engineers, and construction plans must be provided. After a positive interim report review, up to 50% of the approved funding amount can be requested as an interim payment. With this initiative, the Vienna Business Agency strengthens the location’s attractiveness, promotes employment, and secures the long-term presence of production and research enterprises in the city.
