Description
The promotion of environmentally friendly agricultural production methods and the preservation of cultural landscapes (KULAP 2014) supports agricultural enterprises in Berlin and Brandenburg. With funds from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), grants are provided for measures that conserve resources, preserve biodiversity, and promote climate-friendly cultivation methods. The goal is the sustainable management of natural resources and the preservation of regional cultural landscapes through ecological cultivation methods, particularly sustainable practices in arable farming, permanent grassland, and permanent crops, as well as the protection of genetic diversity. The program is of interest to owners of agricultural enterprises who cultivate land in the two federal states themselves and aim for environmentally oriented management.
Requirements for funding include a usage right for at least 0.3 hectares of land in Brandenburg and/or Berlin, a livestock density of a maximum of two large livestock units per hectare, and a commitment period of at least five years. The application must be submitted to the responsible authority by December 31 of the year prior to the start of the commitment, and the payment application within the collective application by May 15 of the following year. The project duration is 60 months. The amount of the grant depends on the type and scope of the chosen measure and is granted as a percentage of eligible costs. The financial support aims to promote the long-term establishment of environmentally friendly cultivation systems to secure the cultural landscape as a valuable natural and cultural asset.
