Description

As a grant program in the field of education and training, the state of Carinthia has been supporting high-quality parental education offerings by non-profit organizations since 2019. Funded are series of events – ranging from day and evening workshops to block events and multi-day projects – that accompany parents, guardians, and other caregivers through various life stages. The offerings combine information, self-reflection, and exchange of experiences and are aimed at phases from pregnancy through early childhood to puberty. Qualified speakers ensure professional depth and competence. Thematic focuses include child development, parenting styles, relationship building, communication, conflict management, holistic health & sexuality, as well as legal and economic issues. Expansion possibilities include areas such as media literacy, family structures, and the involvement of additional caregivers and educators.

A subsidy application can be submitted at any time; however, a submission deadline of April 30 each year applies. In addition to the application, a detailed financing plan must be provided, demonstrating the full funding of the project. Projects may only commence after written approval. Support is provided in accordance with the principles of economy, efficiency, and appropriateness. A comprehensible report on the use of funds must be submitted within three months after completion. Thus, the program is specifically aimed at non-profit organizations that wish to implement innovative parental education initiatives and make a sustainable contribution to family policy in Carinthia.
